U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, White House CEQ to host public meeting in Erie on Jan. 24, 2014 On Friday, Jan. 24, 2014, the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) is hosting a public meeting to present information on the Great Lakes and Mississippi River Interbasin Study (GLMRIS) Report released Jan. 6, 2014. The meeting will be held at the Erie County Library, located at 160 East Front Street, Erie, Pa from 4-7 p.m. The meeting will begin with a presentation on the report. The public is invited to attend and provide comments on and ask questions pertaining to the alternatives in the report. The GLMRIS Report presents a range of options and technologies that could be applied to prevent aquatic nuisance species (ANS), such as Asian carp, transfer between the Great Lakes and Mississippi River basins through aquatic connections. The report is available for public review on the GLMRIS website at http://glmris.anl.gov. If you plan to make an oral comment, please register on the GLMRIS website.
